Curtis Australia CORPORATE - Product Range Australia Post Cufflinks |
|
Curtis Australia Corporate designed and manufactured solid sterling silver cufflinks for Australia Post. The cufflinks are replicas of the first uniform Australian Commonwealth stamp issued in 1912. As the time, the design depicting a kangaroo over the map of Australia was subject to much controversy and debate between political and community members alike. ‘Punch’ described the stamp as follows: ‘The Postmaster-General tool a blank map of Australia from one artist’s design and a ‘blanky’ kangaroo from another, slapped the kangaroo on top of the map and there you are. The result is simply childish; it represents a child’s tastes, a child’s mind. To read more about this controversial stamp and its origins, click here.
